About AN
On the 15th of June 2010, Air
Nigeria took delivery of the first aircraft painted in the
airline’s new name and livery from Shannon Ireland. It was an
exciting time for us at Air Nigeria, as this truly marked the
beginning of the great years ahead as indicated by our new
investor & Chairman – Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim.
Air Nigeria board members, representatives
of members of staff, media friends & suppliers were present at
the MM2 tarmac, where the short ceremony to celebrate the
arrival of B737-300 VND aircraft took place. The Chairman used
the opportunity to address our media friends and informed them
that the initial focus will be to grow the domestic and regional
routes while opening of international routes will follow in the
years to come.
It was also communicated to all present
that the ongoing re-branding activities would culminate in the
celebration of a minimum of ten (10) aircraft in the fleet
branded Air Nigeria by October 2010.
Following all the speeches, a giant bottle
of Moet champagne was popped; all present cheered heartily, and
had a toast to the new airline.
