VIRGIN NIGERIA RESTRUCTURES, MAKES NEW APPOINTMENTS
….bids farewell to staff

Lagos Nigeria, 27th March 2009: Following the remodeling of the business to focus on its profitable regional and domestic routes, thus necessitating the overhaul and restructuring of the various functions, Virgin Nigeria announces the following appointments: Shri Nadgauda as the Chief Financial Officer; Babtunde Aeniji, Acting Head of Ground Services, Stephen Chiazor Acting Head of Human Resource while Mr. Samuel Ogbogoro will oversee the Corporate Communications function. Olufunmilayo Aiyepeku now has eagleflier unit added to her portfolio as Head of Marketing.

The new appointees are to take charge of the functions previously manned by erstwhile members of staff who have moved on to pursue other endeavours. The departing staff are Bola Olajomi-Otubu, Yves Guibert, Nkiru Olumide-Ojo, Woma Atebe, and Titi Aikhomu who were the Human Resource Director; Ground Services Director; Head of Corporate Communications; Head of Finance and eagleflier Manager respectively.

Commenting on the new appointments, the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Conrad Clifford said: “Thanks to the management development and succession plan of Virgin Nigeria, the new appointees are ready hands to take over the functions of the departing managers and I have no doubt in my mind that they will make a huge success of it”.

He also noted that the five departing employees had made useful contributions to the development of the airline in their various functions and therefore wishes them the best of luck as they move on.

Virgin Nigeria has put plans in place to open up more domestic and regional destinations with emphasis on Central and West Africa. With the expected receipt of Embraer jets, this will aggressively grow the business and reengineer it to face and surmount the current challenges facing the global aviation industry.

Virgin Nigeria recently announced the appointment of Dapo Olumide as the Deputy Managing Director. Captain Olumide is an aviation expert with over 25 years industry experience.
