VIRGIN NIGERIA TAKES DELIVERY OF 2ND BRANDED AIRCRAFT ……splashes Special Fares for independence
Lagos, Nigeria: 26 September 2009: Virgin Nigeria Airways, the country’s fully private sector flag carrier, at the weekend took delivery of a second aircraft in its new livery coming on the heels of a splash of N12,000 special fare to celebrate Nigerians 49th independence celebration.
The aircraft which arrived Sunday is a gradual unveiling of its recently launched new identity and brand logo, With the delivery of the aircraft from the paintshop,
Virgin Nigeria Airways currently have two of its aircraft fully branded in the airlines’ livery while the other aircraft in its fleet are on queue to be painted.
While taking the delivery of the aircraft in Lagos, the Chief commercial Officer, Jimmy Kibati noted that the newly introduced livery of the airline has received tremendous commendations both at home and abroad, thus reaffirming the acceptance of the
Virgin Nigeria Airways trademark amongst the discerning travelers.
“The airline’s name and logo fully reflects the rich cultural heritage of Africans and in addition, we are glad to have a Technical Service Agreement (TSA) with Ethiopian Airlines which will help us retain our established culture of excellence”, Kibati said.
In commemoration of the 49th Independence anniversary of the nation,
Virgin Nigeria Airways has launched special promotional fares on all its domestic routes.
The special independence fare offer tagged ‘Nigeria at 49’ will see passengers purchasing a one-way ticket on any of the domestic routes for a flat rate of N12,000. The anniversary promo tickets goes on sale between September 28 and October 4, 2009 with all travels valid for the sales period.
The N12,000 special independence fare offering is inclusive of all taxes and is subject to availability of seats and applicable conditions of carriage of the airline.
Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Jimmy Kibati, who announced the launch of the promotion in Lagos, said: “Virgin
Nigeria Airways which was recently birthed following the discontinuation of the Virgin Nigeria brand name is committed to offering outstanding value on fares.
“This new fare will afford our passengers to fly and experience our unique product offering and this is coming at an auspicious time when Nigerians both at home and abroad are rebranding in line with the Federal Government’s initiative towards showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the nation”, Kibati said.
It will be recalled that Virgin Nigeria Airways which was hitherto known as Virgin Nigeria recently adopted a truly Nigerian identity in line with its business model of building a credible airline in the sub-region.
